Simon GillSimon joined Oxford Innovation in 2011. With a PhD and many years of experience, Simon specialises in engineering, manufacture and aerospace. He works with businesses on the Grow Cornwall programme to provide mentoring and act as a business advisor.
Simon has broad academic and business experience, developed in a large manufacturing organisation and running his own small business. An engineering degree and an interest in aircraft safety led Simon to the manufacturer Airbus.
Simon trained staff within airlines, maintenance organisations and aviation regulators worldwide and was the Airbus representative on various international committees presenting to many international conferences and symposia.
Completing a psychology-based PhD Simon developed techniques to optimise the safety of aircraft during design, focusing specifically upon human factors which form the basis of proposed changes to European aviation regulation. More recently, Simon launched and operates PSG Cornwall, a Cornish property business currently employing a team of twelve staff with an annual turnover in excess of £1M.
