After 12 years researching molecular signalling at Cambridge and Oxford, Huw undertook business training in Amsterdam, with (Reed) Elsevier in electronic media. Huw focuses on projects linking the bioscience research with industry application in the new economy. His major roles in these areas have included: 'technology auditor' under the DTI Technology Audit scheme, founder Manager of the DTI Diagnostics Club and founding Chief Executive of the British in vitro Diagnostics Association.
Huw is an advisor to the European Commission in the areas of Bioscience, Media and Nanotechnology, a partner in European technology networks in both diagnostics and biotechnology and over the past 15 years has worked on knowledge transfer programmes in the Czech Republic, Russia, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, Belgium and Sweden.
